From Actor to Superstar of Bollywood

Salman Khan made his debut in the movie Biwi Ho Toh Aisi in 1988. He made his debut as a lead in the 1989 movie “Maine Pyaar Kiya.” The film became a blockbuster of all time. 

Salman co-starred with Aamir Khan in the 1994 film “Andaz Apna Apna.”Although a flop during its release, the movie is now a cult classic. He co-starred with Madhuri Dixit in the romantic film “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”… later that year. With over ₹2 billion in global receipts, the movie was the highest-grossing Indian film to that point and the largest Bollywood hit of the year. 

1999 was a great year for Salman, as both his movies “Hum Saath Saath Hain” and “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” went on to become hits. He starred in films such as “Tere Naam,” “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi,” “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke,” and “No Entry” in the early 2000s. 

Salman returned to Bollywood with “Partner” co-starring Govinda, which was a commercially successful and fan-loved movie. Renowned philanthropist Salman Khan founded the “Being Human”  NGO, which sells T-shirts and other goods to help needy people. Blackbuck Hunting Case

Salman Khan was charged in 1998 with using outdated guns and poaching endangered antelopes. For hunting the endangered Chinkara, he received a one-year prison sentence. He was found guilty in the blackbuck poaching case in 2018 and given a five-year prison term. The Bishnoi Gang threatened Khan for the hunting incident and opened fire on his Mumbai apartment in 2024.

Hit and Run Case

Salman, convicted of reckless driving after a 2002 crash in Mumbai, was sentenced to five years in prison. Although Khan killed four homeless individuals, the court found him guilty of culpable homicide, not murder. His driver, Ashok Singh, was charged with perjury. Khan was not found guilty due to insufficient evidence.
