Aryan Khan Drug Case (The Major Controversy of King Khan Son)
On October 2, 2021, the Drug Control Bureau attacked a Cordelia cruise ship off Mumbai, targeting an alleged drug party. Here, 20 NCB officers, including Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, set up the boat and jailed the passengers. Aryan Khan was 23 years old when he was detained along with other people, including his friend Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha.
The NCB seized 13 grams of cocaine and 5 grams of MD from the ship, which also included 21 grams of charas, as well as cash worth 1.3 lakh. Six grams of charas were found from Merchant (Aryan’s friend) on this ship, but no drugs were recovered from Aryan, the NCB claimed. It was alleged that he was involved in drug consumption and trafficking, and he also had WhatsApp chats as evidence. He was arrested on 3 October 2021.

Legal Proceedings
Aryan was held in Arthur Road Jail for 26 days, from October 3rd to October 28th, 2021, and the lower court denied his requests for bail. The NCB argued that he was in a conscious state of drug use, due to which he was friends with Merchant. Also, he had committed crimes in the WhatsApp chats of 2020. His lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, countered that no drugs were found on Aryan, his consumption was not visible from any medical test, and the chats were irrelevant.
On 20 October, a special NDPS court dismissed the bail, but the Bombay High Court, whose new judge was Justice Sambre, granted bail on 28 October. With the Rs 100,000 bond given, it sparked a lot of public debate, and celebrities like Hrithik Roshan and Shashi Tharoor supported Aryan.
