Nyra grew up with one younger brother named Swarnabh, who is currently the managing director at Geekery Video Productions. 

From childhood, She was introduced to learn Hindustani classical music and ghazal by her mother. She also took part in classical dancing such as Kathak classes, but had to discontinue. It was during a song recording one day, that she was spotted by the noted director G.V. She did her schooling at Canossa Convent School in Mumbai, wherein she was interested in classical music, ghazal, and even classical dancing like Kathak. She subsequently pursued her Bachelor’s in Legal Science and Legislative Law from SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law.

Although not much is known about her personal life. But in 2019, Nyra has been in a relationship previously with actor Karan Khanna. However, this was a rumored allegation and neither party confirmed or denied the same.

After this, she had a few more releases thus becoming a prominent actress in the South Indian film industry. In 2019, Nyra played a role in the series ‘Divya Drishti’ on Star Plus. She took on the role of Divya Sharma opposite Mishkat Varma and Sana Sayyad. In 2022, she also starred in the titular role in Color TV’s ‘Pishachini’.
